Jovis Italian Grill and Restaurant
4 Stars (excellent)
Wow..you would never know about this place if you didn't drive by it. It's a true
hidden gem in Kenmore. Jovis has a smooth atmosphere with outstanding
food, decor, price and service. Cute Thursday night bartender too!

K. Gallaghers

I have been to this resturant many times before, and have been seated at the large table in the front. I sat there with a party of 8. Ordinarily, the table is set with 6 chairs, but we have moved 2 over in the past, many times. I decided on this Friday to bring my parents (87 years old) and my brother and his family from Florida to K Gallaghers. On this day, "K", the owner , came to the entrance and asked how many we would be. I told her 8, and she replied she didn't have a table for 8. I looked at the empty table with 6 chairs around it, and said, we can pull over 2 more chairs, as we have done in the past. She very nastily replied that she had no chairs available and turned on her heels and walked away. I walked out (speechless) and went to Fiddleheads with my party, where we were treated wonderfully. I will never set foot in K Gallaghers again.

Yummy Thai

Nice looking place small but thoughtfully set up. The food was quite tasty and I appreciated being asked the "heat level" as Thai food more often then not is loaded with hot chilli's. My dish, #23 Street Noodles took a few bites to get use to the taste of the dish. My wife had the #27 Pineapple Fried Rice which was okay but my wife makes it much much better. (she's Asian) Also my wife had the Fried Calamari which she said was wonderful very crisp and not greasy. The coconut shrimp was wonderful also crunchy and not a bit greasy either.
Now the rest of the review is a downer. The young man who greeted us upon arrival was clearly over worked. I would say his titles included host, waiter, busboy, and phone answering duties. Thus while the cashier and who ever the other young girl was sitting at the back table with her notebook computer did nothing to assist him. Several times we almost walked out after we were given our menus it took forever for our orders to be taken. The oth!
er time was when the lad was trying to clean about 6 tables at once as he sprayed each with cleaner let it set for a few minutes. In the meantime I was on the verge of an asthma attack from the fumes. My wife was completely P/O'ed with the place I felt pity for the lad trying his best to keep up. So while you've lost me as a future customer if you want to stay in business you better give the dude a hand instead of sitting on you ass playing with your computer
Food was very good service was pathetic.

La Dolce Vita - Hertel Ave, North Buffalo

Worst Customer Service Ever. We went here after a wonderful day and had the WORST customer service from the owner himself. Do not ever send anything back at this place as they will not let you order a replacement and will argue with you about it and embarass you in front of the whole place.
Viking Lobster Company – 366 Tonawanda Street Buffalo, NY 14207 (716) 873-1079

The Viking Lobster Company is a hidden gem in the Black Rock community of Buffalo. Their website is a litte out dated but if you like large quantities of really good sea food then Viking Lobster Company is the place to go. I went there in Feburary and always split the Viking Feast which has 2 whole lobsters, 2 broiled haddock filets, shrimp, and crab. That is after you get a soup and salad too!. I also recommend getting the clams casino for an appetizer they are delicious. What makes this place better than most is that you can bring your own alcohol and no uncorcking fee! I usually end up spending 2 hours there, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Be there or be square.

My first time – been meaning to go there but how often does one get to Lackawanna? No middle ground dinners. A little pricey. We had lighter fare in mind so had the Southwestern Chicken which was quite tasty and a good value for the price.Wine was 8-9 dollars a glass. A bit much I think. Service was good.attentive.

The food at La Marina was great! We each had a seafood dish and they were delicious. The seafood is really fresh. The only complaint we had was that the service was quite slow and there were only a few other customers in the restaurant. I would still highly recommend this place.

I’m on a low carb diet plan allows chicken wings as a daily item. So Needless to say I have become quiet the connesuer. Never haveing Anchor Bar wings before I figured I’d give them a try, seeing is how they claim to have the “original Buffalo wing “.So I ordered a double order the correct way. Hot, extra saucey and a tad on the crispy side to compensate for the abundence of sauce. I went in to pick up my order and gave my name.. The employee gave me my total – $18.65.. $18.65? for a double order? Really? I unwillingly paid the man, grabbed my wings and left. I was heading to Rochester for a work related issue so I figured I would snack on a few before I left their parking lot. Upon first inspection I noticed they were NOT extra saucey.. Barely covered was more like it. Upon first bite, I noticed they were NOT a tad on the crispy side either… Let me tell you what they were – AWFUL. they were basically un sauced.. They were not crispy AT ALL… But most of all they WEREN’T even HOT…. SO basically I received the exact opposite of what I ordered.. Slimy, non saucey, MILD chicken wings. Which might I add, had a crappy flavor to them. It actually tasted like their fryers were dirty or they were using old oil. It was very dissapointing. I thought I was missing something.. To rate these wings from 1-10.. I give them a 1.. I’ll never go back. Not to mention being sub par, they over priced… Go to any pizzeria in the WNY area.. Double order is always around $15 and be exactly the way you ordered them.. If anyone would like to see the proof, there are still 17 of the 20 in my fridge.. Gross..Never again…
